Brian Asha’s “Mighty Man” Is A Pretty Good Song If You’ve Got an Ego to Feed

Let’s be honest. There are a lot of songs that have been written about being a mighty man. But for some reason, only a few wear bravado quite like Brian Asha’s Mighty Man. The best part? He made it sound so damn good you’ll start moving to the beat before you can even question the cheeky grin on his face.

Behind this anthem is Brian Asha, a Canadian artist and youth advocate whose experience traces back to Toronto’s 80s alternative scene and ‘90s cyberpunk and rave movement. In 2026, he founded Mighty IRL, a movement inspired by his recovery journey and years counseling young men, which eventually led to his latest single, Mighty Man.

Asha isn’t interested in complex, lengthy intros. Instead, he gets straight to the point, saying, “I’m a man, a mighty mighty man.” You’d get no subtlety here. The gritty blue-rock guitars come in with a bite, while the funk-inspired basslines give the track a kind of groove that makes sitting still feel like a waste of perfectly good music.

But for some reason, what makes it stick is that it doesn’t sound excessive at all. Maybe it’s the catchiness, or maybe it’s the worn-in quality in the vocals, but either way, Asha made it so well that even his borderline ridiculous self-praise becomes oddly endearing.

And whether you’re looking for an anthem to randomly listen to or just need a little something to hype yourself up, Mighty Man gives you a pretty good reason to get lost in it for a while.
