Check Out Why Lee Trent’s EP “In Presence” Demands to Be Listened to and Felt

It is rare to see some great music that could present itself as something that sounds like a powerful message directed to yourself, and Lee Trent‘s latest EP, “In Presence,” gives you just that. This six-track collection felt like a moment of seated conversation with yourself because of its strong lyrical content about the highs and lows of life, the kind that we’ve all experienced, wrapped in a chill and enjoyable acoustic package that offers not only comfort but also strength and an opportunity to be seen. “In Presence” is not only the story of Lee, but it is a shared experience with lots of us.

The album opens with the first track, “The Dashboard Incident,” which sets the stage for the whole collection. From the get-go, this track offers a vibe that feels like a reflection, more like a message Trent would like to send himself. As the gentle strums of acoustic guitar come in, the background beats laced with some fine synths make this whole production an easy listen. This is a nice track to get lost in, the type that you’ll listen to on a long ride to nowhere on a nice, warm day. This song reflects the uncertainties that we have in our lives, but though unsure, Trent’s message is clear: it is to push through it because keeping everything going is still the most important above all.

Following this is a track called “Warm Winter Collection,” which has a calm and soothing acoustic guitar introduction, but then, as the song continues, the sound expands with the added energy from some energetic beats and synths. This whole arrangement mirrors the chaos that is going on inside of Trent as he deals with rejection and the type of people that could drag you down. This song hits hard because, for sure, at some point in our lives, we’ve all been there as we expect some people to be there with us and for us, but in the end, they brought us nothing but sour feelings. But then again, this track still comes off like a friendly sound; it offers a little sense of peace as you listen through each note Trent sings. It is calm and lively as if it is a reminder that after going through all of it, good things are still about to happen to you, so keep going.

“Abrupt” is probably one of my favorite tracks for this collection because of its unique chord progression. Apart from that, this track is about something familiar to the majority of us since it is about dealing with unexpected situations and changes in our lives. This song is a reminder to stay strong when you think everything doesn’t go the way you like it because, at the end of the day, as you move forward, you will get through it. It is the type of message you need to hear after a long, hard day, and Trent sings this using his signature blend of synths, clear drums, and friendly acoustic guitar strums.

“In Presence” is something personal for Trent, yet somehow, it deeply connects to all of us as you go along and listen to each of the tracks it offers. “Moonbeams,” “Hardd Abrill,” and “Subtle Waves” are also featured in this collection, and these tracks carry the same weight of messages about life that you all need to hear. Each of these tracks felt like a message from a friend who believes in you, that you can push past each challenge, and each note felt like a hug because of the warmth and friendliness that it carries.
