No Mercy With GINAxC’s Horror And Electropop-Driven “My Darkness (Dorian Gray)”

When darkness and revenge consumes someone, the outcome is more likely to be that of “My Darkness (Dorian Gray)”, which, based on the song’s title, is somewhat a nod to Oscar Wilde’s character of the same name. However, this song goes beyond that, and uses that figure as more of a reference point.

Coming out of the shadows is GINAxC, an artist from Sweden. She claims that “My Darkness (Dorian Gray)” is an anthem to the carefree, self-absorbed, and those in their phase of seeking revenge. Having total control over this song by writing, composing, and directing and editing the music video, it’s safe to say GINAxC’s music is personal and artistic at the same time.

Being a fusion of electropop and goth themes, it’s no mistake that the melodies and the overall vibe give off Wednesday Addams, right off the bat. But, it doesn’t end there—it takes the 2009 Dorian Gray book into a song that people can dance and be their own unique and weird selves to.

Overall, the dark elements are endearing, and something that would get a specific audience to become curious of GINAxC’s music. A definite win for those who enjoy electropop music, though. This one’s a worthy song for that club playlist.
