Pat G, the Texas-based rising international rapper, is back to flex his latest EP drop, “Talk to Me Nice.” Released on July 12, 2024, this collection of five tracks carries great proof of how great of an artist Pat G is with the fact that he can deliver powerful performances and relay compelling messages to the audience without being vulgar.
Before we jump in with the specifics, let me just say it first. This EP is fire. As initially mentioned, this album carries good stories courtesy of the experiences written and delivered by Pat G. It is packed with wisdom and realities in life that will give you a glimpse of what has transpired in the life of this artist. With that, let’s put on these “attitude masks” and dive right into Pat G’s music.
Opening up for this collection is the track “Let’s Go.” It is a headbanger! This track is guaranteed to keep your head bopping. With Pat G’s clear and crisp delivery. This song sure “served.” Pat G was not messing around when he dropped this EP. This track showcases Pat G’s mindset in life. While life could be kicking him on the ground, he acknowledges the fact that life isn’t so easy after all, and there’s still hope. He cleverly stitched a narrative of how most of the time, people around us would try to drag us down, but the song says “Let’s Go” and to keep going because we still have some battles to slay.
The next tracks are “Down” and “Spectrum.” These tracks feature two awesome artists who helped give Pat G’s tracks a different color and vibe through their performances. Wild Prxfits, with his cool, low voice, has conveyed stories and realities that they have faced in life and how some societal systems are broken through the track Down. On the other hand, Saridae, with her rich and great vocals, provided a great tonal contrast on the track Spectrum as she and Pat G performed about how a person has different choices in life and has the full capacity to make certain choices to compose what’s on their lives.
In terms of personal favorites, “Nobody” and “Honest Conversation” top my list. These tracks run close to home. “Nobody” is a humble tribute to Pat G’s beginnings and his roots. He celebrates all the experiences that he has gone through in his life and recognizes where he has come from. This also showcases his never-ending aspirations to find a way to win. This track is all about resilience and, at the same time, survival, and more importantly, about winning in the end. Lastly, “Honest Conversation.” This track is a reflection of how Pat G is as a person on his team and in his family. This is like a personal message to them that he will always be there to support them. This track is all about Pat G: how his mind works, how he takes a loss like a champ, how he takes on societal issues, and at the same time, it gives a clear view of how he treats the people in his life. Pat G claimed that this song is a bop (check out the intro to this track). Well, sure. It is indeed a bop!
Here’s the thing: Pat G may have been a really lyrical chemist at this point since he has perfected the formula for this EP. Good production + great lyricism + great performances = Talk to Me Nice EP. Ultimately, “Talk to Me Nice” is a great EP to showcase Pat G’s talent as an artist. This sure proves his status as one of the rising stars in the music scene. With his complex rhyme setups and witty wordplay, there is no denying that this article has mastery of lyrical dexterity, and that is some top-notch skill right there. With that, be sure to check this EP out. Talk to Me Nice is now available for streaming on all your favorite streaming platforms.
