Running Out of Christmas Songs? CG Franky’s Got You Covered!

During this holiday season, you might find yourself attending or hosting parties and events left and right. Sometimes, the same playlists and rotations may go a little rusty after a few replays. Thankfully, a handful of new Christmas songs just came out: “A Christmas Wauwol”.

CG Franky’s open to the fact that they use AI in the making of their music, which for some, may be an immediate red flag in the context of creative projects. But, we’re talking about Christmas music here, in which most of the selection has recurring themes and overall sound. Like all types of music, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to give it a try.

The EP has six songs in total, namely “Christmas Teddy”, “Angels of Christmas”, “All I Want”, “Christmas Star”, “Christmas Balloon”, and one in Dutch titled “Ouleh Kerst”.

In all honesty, there’s not much to report about what really pops out within the tracks, but it certainly meets the stereotypical Christmas music criteria. The overall feel is there, the structures are fairly similar with one another, and the lyrics are clearly self-explanatory, basing off completely on the song titles themselves (i.e., “Christmas Teddy” is about a festive teddy bear, describing it entirely including its ‘soft feet’).

Plus, the instrumentals could use some factors to make them stand out and have their own unique flairs. As a listener who intentionally listens for something ear-catching in a song, there’s a point when zoning off becomes a tendency. Before everyone comes in throwing their tomatoes, it just means these kinds of songs aren’t made for heavy analysis, as most holiday songs are.

Don’t get discouraged: this EP still makes a great counterpart if you’re ever in need of general Christmas music. I’m talking about background noise for coffee shops and grocery stores, a nice and mellow tune to turn up during parties, and many more. Mix these songs with your preexisting holiday playlists, and you’ll be good to go!
