Right from the start, the track already screams old money and elegance from its strings that float above its orchestral textures. Think of a song in an absurdly expensive Palm Beach party where everyone looks like they have a yacht waiting outside. Crosby’s vocals then fill the spaces with a thick, velvety tone, making the whole thing feel even more lavish.
Lyrically, it’s excessive but not in a bad way. It’s the kind of excess that makes perfect sense for the world Crosby is describing. Because really, what would a song about Palm Beach Island be without diamonds, antiques, and French clothing?
