Vincent Projects’ “Arcade Sunrise” Pulses Through Fractured Signals of Love and Longing

It’s such a stand out when an artist uses modern technology intentionally, not as a shortcut but as means to weave their own touch and emotions. Vincent Projects does it so well in his latest EP, Arcade Sunrise.

Vincent Projects is a music producer who grew up listening to his grandfather’s vinyl collection from the ‘50s and ‘60s. Over the years, he produces music through samples along with analog and virtual synths, leaning towards an underground-style approach to beat making. Now, he’s back in the spotlight with an electric and pixelated EP Arcade Sunrise that blends soft grunge, EMO, and coldwave, with a touch of Chiptune.

Arcade Sunrise welcomes you with soft-grunge guitars that set the tone for the whole EP, the kind of hazy, half-awake atmosphere that only happens between dawn and morning. Not until the vocals cut through the scene, carrying that EMO-laced rhythm and tone that feels cold, edgy, and unreal. Lyrically, you’ll get romance glitching in joystick dreams and coinslot hearts. This is a pixelated promise in a sound that is electric and tender at the same time.

Shine Through Static embodies its name so well, like you have just found a faint flicker of light underneath a broken screen and empty space. It moves light at first until the chorus comes in surging, singing “shine through static, don’t fade away.” Aside from the sharp, gritty vocals, the raps give contrast to the track, making the atmosphere more alive and layered.

You’ll probably think the lead single, Sugar High Satellites gives a high-energy, sugar rush-like atmosphere but it does the opposite, offering something more slow and tender compared to the first tracks. The falsettos and scratches from the vocals heighten the emotions, adding vulnerability and warmth to the track. This feels dreamy and melancholic at the same time, like drifting across a space where everything feels too sweet and fleeting, it barely feels real.

Wild Signal Romance exists in the same atmosphere, fragile and aching without drowning in sentimentality with the line “you’re a glitch in the void, my saving grace”. It’s punchy and cathartic without being too loud and messy. The vocals carry longing while the raps pulse like a heartbeat, telling you exactly how wild signal romance really sounds.

One thing you’ll love about this EP is its versatility. It’s already 14 minutes long, but it feels like it goes by quicker than it actually does. Was it the ache in its momentum, fragility in distortion, or its warmth despite the rush from its layers? Perhaps, it’s all of these things. What you’ll get is futurism, structure, and tenderness that never lacks in meaning and depth.

Overall, Vincent ProjectsArcade Sunrise is a collection of tracks that goes beyond human connection in fractured signals and pixelated spaces that deserve a listen.
